1 Timothy 3 -
This chapter is dedicated to those who are divinely called
and to those who seek to be bishops and deacons. I could write about the
characteristics of these two offices but I will not. Timothy has made it very transparent
as to who and what to look for in the character and integrity of any person
with these titles and who desire these titles. It’s not an overnight decision
and it’s not a fad. What I can and will say is that far too many men and women
have jumped on the band wagon of having the title of apostle and bishop. Yet,
they lack the character and integrity and most importantly they lack the
anointing that comes along with that office. Men are being made deacons and
women are being made deaconess because they have either attending that
particular church building for awhile or have shown themselves faithful in
helping out where needed. But where is the ministry that comes with that
office; where is the anointing? If you are a bishop you are responsible for a
number of local churches in the supervisory capacity. I don’t witness much of
that. In other words you oversee or you are the overseer. If you are a deacon
or deaconess you are apart of the clerical order but I have not had the
opportunity to witness a deacon or deaconess exhort JESUS in the ministry that
they have been given. Deacons and deaconess are not just elected officers with
various defined duties in the up keep of the building. You have a ministry not
just an official title of the church. Ok, enough of that; the title is “Who is
GOD?” HE is a Spirit and person. HE is living, thinking, hearing, seeing,
breathing, talking and moving GOD. HE is the foundation of all truth. And to
those who have not accepted JESUS HE is a mystery. HE is controversial because mankind
lacks the understanding of HIS character. Now why do you suppose that I wrote
that GOD is a Spirit and a person? First GOD is Spirit and those who worship
HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth; John 4:24. Also, get ready now;
hold on to your hats. The LORD GOD was manifested in the flesh and HIS name is
JESUS. In the beginning was the Word / JESUS , and the Word was with GOD, and the Word is GOD. HE was in the beginning with GOD. All
things were made through HIM, and without HIM nothing was made that was made.
In HIM is life,
and the life is the light of men. And
the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it; John
1:1-5. The Word became flesh and lived with
us, and we beheld HIS glory, the glory as of the only begotten
of the FATHER, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of HIM and cried out,
saying, “This is HE of whom I said, ‘HE who comes after me is preferred before
me, for HE was before me.’” And of HIS
fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given
through Moses, but grace and truth came through JESUS CHRIST. No one has seen GOD
at any time. The only begotten SON, who is in the bosom of the FATHER, HE has
declared HIM, John 1:14-18. In the beginning GOD/
JESUS created the heavens and the earth, the Spirit of GOD / Holy Spirit, Genesis 1:1. GOD said, “Let US/ FATHER, SON
and Holy Spirit make man in OUR image, according to OUR likeness, Genesis 1:26.
Now when John said that JESUS was before him; remember according to natural
birth John was born first and JESUS was in HIS mother’s womb yet JESUS being GOD
existed before anything or anyone because HE is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning
and the End. “I AM the Alpha
and the Omega, the Beginning and
the End,” says the LORD, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Revelation 1:8. “I
AM the Alpha and the Omega,
the First and the Last,”
Rev. 1:11. I AM the Alpha and the Omega, the
Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” Rev.
